Viral Photo of Overworked Texas Dominos Workers Burdened by Snowstorm Goes Viral

The winter storm in Texas has affected households and people who work in the food industry. In times of turmoil, food is needed, and when there is no power, fast food chains come to the rescue, pushing workers and crews to do their best and provide food. But the emotional and physical frustration sometimes comes to people, like the viral photo of Domino workers looking tired, which deserves recognition.

According to San Antonio Current, the image that gathered attention online features two famous pizza brand employees, following a harrowing four-hour Wednesday shift, gathering 20,000 comments and 59,000 shares.

Mitú shares that a Reddit user named July DeLuna explains that the photo is from Domino's in San Antonio, where the crew works amid the crisis. De Luna adds that the fast-food branch has a weekend's worth of food, and it was all gone in about four hours.

They add that this team helped those that needed help and are essential workers who need recognition because of their heroic deed.

FOX 29 notes that Dominos was the only pizza place open. They stayed open because they wanted to help those in need. They add that the photo prompted to share photographs of those who continued to work despite the power and water outrages in San Antonio this week.

Comments on the viral photo exhibit different sympathies that concerns the workers in the pizza brand. San Antonio currently shares a statement from a comment saying that the workers probably make 10 U.S. dollars per hour. The manager will probably get a sales bonus because of the spike.

Another Redditor also shares that the workers need 15 U.S. dollars per hour, adding that these people are putting food on your table, and they should be paid enough to put their food on their table.

Mitú mentions another user commenting that Domino's should pay them for the shifts they will miss while the workers do not have any ingredients.

The user continues that free advertising is the least the company should do. Mitú also notes another commenter was saying that as someone who works in the foodservice industry, the thought of selling out all products in just for hours is unsounded levels of nightmare fuel.

Other workers

Since the viral photo touched the attention of various commenters, workers who reported to work despite the San Antonio area's storm have posted their pictures. FOX 29 shares that a viewer who works in Walmart introducing themselves as Walmart managers that have been working all day and night to make sure their customers get their essentials, and even though it's a rough day for them, they could not change it.

Another photo from a firefighter's wife is noted by FOX 29 when her husband did 96 hours of shift this week and responded to 70 calls.

The Domino workers' photo, alongside the other workers from Texas, is evidence that these people are the epitome of unsung heroes, people who usually work behind the scenes. With all their strength and sense of duty, they continue to help with the knowledge that they are also in the same situation.
