President Barack Obama may be dealing with a litany of problems like the threat of ISIS, children crossing our borders and his dwindling approval ratings, but he made it clear that House Speaker John Boehner's lawsuit surely isn't one.

On Wednesday, Speaker Boehner announced that he has filed a lawsuit against the president over his use of executive actions. In a memo addressed to the GOP, Boehner accused Obama of misusing his authority by overstepping Congress and issuing executive orders to change policies that affect the environment, minimum wage, gay marriage and health care, the Huffington Post reported.

He stated that he plans to introduce legislation in the next few weeks that would authorize the House General Counsel to sue the Obama administration and "compel" the president to enforce existing law. However, he failed to cite which specific executive orders that he finds problematic.

In response, the president dismissed the speaker's suit as a political ploy in an interview that aired on Good Morning America on Friday. Obama also refused to apologize for his actions and pointed a spotlight on the Republican Party for what he described as its attempt to interfere with the basic government operations.

"You notice that he didn't specifically say what exactly he was objecting to," the president said when asked about the suit by ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos during an interview in Minnesota.

"I'm not going to apologize for trying to do something while they're doing nothing," the president said later. "The suit is a stunt."

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest also slammed Republicans for "considering a taxpayer funded lawsuit against the president of the United States for doing his job."

"This lawsuit is not something that's going to consume the attention of the White House," he said, according to Roll Call.
