John Leguizamo is one of Hollywood's most successful Latino actors. The 62-year-old Colombian-American has been an in-demand film actor for more than three decades now.

John Alberto Leguizamo was born in Bogota, Colombia on July 22, 1960. He and his parents moved to New York City when he was four years old.

He grew up in Queens, and after he graduated high school, he enrolled as a theatre major at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. However, he dropped out of school before graduating to pursue a career in stand-up comedy.

Much like many comedians in New York, such as Chris Rock, Leguizamo cut his teeth as a stand-up comic in various nightclubs in the city.

He got his first break in 1984, when he starred as Madonna's boyfriend in the video for her early hit "Borderline."
