How to Get Your Social Security Payment?

About 10 years ago, the Social Security Administration started transitioning away from paper checks. Social Security payments are now distributed digitally. There are a few digital options available to people who get the benefits.

According to Investopedia, the first option is direct deposit. Social Security beneficiaries can simply go to their local branch or call their Social Security office to sign up.

Individuals must prepare their Social Security number, the routing number of their financial institution, account number, and the type of account (checking or savings).

Getting Social Security benefits with a Direct Express card is also possible. You can get your benefits without having a bank account if you have a Direct Express card.

The recipient's monthly benefit will be deposited directly to the debit card, which can be used to make purchases or be used at ATMs, banks, or credit unions to withdraw cash.
