Embattled Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre took a break from dealing with his massive Mississippi welfare scandal to show solidarity with Tucker Carlson.

The former quarterback, who is currently facing a massive corruption scandal in Mississippi for using funds meant to go to some of the poorest people in the state to build a volleyball court, stated in a tweet, "I'm with Tucker," and called for a boycott on Fox News.

He said the boycott should happen until the embattled conservative network "comes to its senses" and let Carlson speak. The fired former Fox host faced various controversies before he was fired, though the leading cause may have been leaked messages showing his racist tendencies.

According to The Hill, Favre agreed with former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who said in her program that Fox viewers might still return to Fox after the Carlson departure and "forgive" them for what they did. Kelly left the network on bad terms and even helped expose the sexism and sexual harassment going on at Fox News. However, this still went on in the network even after she left, as Carlson is among those being sued by a former producer for sexism, among other things.

Brett Favre Denies Any Wrongdoing During the Mississippi Welfare Scandal

While calling for a boycott on Fox News, Favre is reportedly connected to the anomalous spending of over $8 million in misspent funds from the federal government's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. The NFL legend allegedly used $5 million to build a new volleyball facility for his alma mater, the University of Southern Mississippi (USM), where his daughter plays volleyball.

Despite this, Favre still denies any wrongdoings, with his attorneys filing a long denial of accusations that he misappropriated funds meant for the poorest families from the poorest state in the country just to build a volleyball court.

According to Mercury News, his attorneys asked the court to deny the relief request filed by the Mississippi Department of Human Services. His attorneys also argued that their client acted in "good faith." They also argued that their client "lacks knowledge or information sufficient to form a belief as to the truth of the allegations" that he conspired to defraud the Mississippi Department of Human Services.

Judge Rules Brett Favre Still Part of the Mississippi Welfare Lawsuit

Despite his denial of wrongdoings, though, Circuit Judge Faye Peterson ruled that his attorneys made "unpersuasive and inapplicable" arguments when they tried to remove him as one of the over three dozen people being sued by the Mississippi Department of Human Services.

The NFL Hall of Famer's spokesperson, Alex Pfeiffer, stated that Favre was disappointed with the ruling and his legal team is now "exploring his options."

So far, no criminal charges have been brought against him for his role in this corruption scandal yet. Those implicated include former WWE wrestlers Ted DiBiase and Ted DiBiase Jr. and former Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, who helped Favre get those welfare funds for the volleyball court.
