Former President Donald Trump's behavior inspired the Apple TV+ series "Ted Lasso" to change directions, according to Jason Sudeikis, the man who plays Ted Lasso himself.

During an interview with The Guardian, the star talked about the early origins of the show. He said its initial concept was much more "belligerent" than the positive and inspiring series today.

Sudeikis noted that after observing the behavior of Trump, it forced them to make the character kindhearted and go in the opposite direction. Now, "Ted Lasso" is noted for and lauded for its positive messaging.

"It was the culture we were living in," the "Ted Lasso" actor said during the interview, "I'm not terribly active online and it even affected me. Then you have Donald Trump coming down the escalator. I was like, 'OK, this is silly,' and then what he unlocked in people."

Sudeikis added that he decided not to portray the character that way because he hated how people were not listening to each other, and as a new parent at that time, he did not want to add to this negativity.

Jason Sudeikis Talks About Recent Visit to the White House

According to Variety, before the premiere of the third season of "Ted Lasso," the stars of the Apple TV+ comedy series visited the White House and talked about "the importance of mental health to promote overall well-being."

Sudeikis talked about the experience during The Guardian interview and said that while he has been to fake Oval Office sets many times before, a little bit of himself is nonplussed by it, with the "Ted Lasso" star admitting that he was just "holding my s**t together."

During the event, Sudeikis met with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and said the president is a "very warm guy."

"It's like meeting your good friend's father or your young friend's grandfather. He just makes you feel at home and that home just happened to be the White House for that afternoon," Sudeikis said about his recent White House trip.

Donald Trump Continues to Rage About Sexual Abuse Verdict

As Ted Lasso went on a very positive decision due to Donald Trump's behavior, the man who inspired the change is still angry about his courtroom loss to former Elle Magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll last week.

The former president blamed "liberal New York" for the loss because the jury in the state believed Carroll's account more. He repeatedly attacked Carroll after the verdict, and the Trump accuser is now weighing in on whether or not to sue him again.

According to The Guardian, he also blamed the judge for being biased, which might not go well for him given he recently filed for an appeal on the sexual abuse and defamation suit that he recently lost.
