The Powerball jackpot has reached an impressive amount of $875 million after no grand prize winners were announced in the recent drawing, according to The Enquirer.

This makes it the third-largest jackpot in Powerball history. Furthermore, it secures the seventh spot for the highest all-time lottery prizes in the United States.

The Powerball winning numbers from the Wednesday, July 12 drawing were 23, 35, 45, 66, and 67, with a red Powerball number of 20 and a Power Play multiplier of 3X.

The largest Powerball jackpot ever recorded was a staggering $2.04 billion, won in California in November 2022.

There have been two Powerball jackpot winners this year. One lucky player from Washington won a jackpot of $754.6 million in February, and another player from Virginia claimed a jackpot worth $162.6 million in March.

The current jackpot has been rolling over for 35 consecutive drawings since the last win.

Million-Dollar Powerball Tickets Sold in Indiana, Florida; $2 Million Ticket Sold in Iowa

It seems luck was on the side of some lottery players despite not winning the nearly-record-breaking Powerball jackpot.

An unidentified individual won a $1 million prize by matching all five numbers except for the Powerball, per USA TODAY.

The winning ticket was purchased at New Stockwell Market in Lafayette, Indiana.

Similarly, another million-dollar ticket was sold in Florida with the same matching numbers.

In a separate incident, an Iowa woman named Megan Balmer came close to winning the massive jackpot, falling just one number short.

Her easy-pick ticket won her a $2 million prize, making her the sole winner of this amount.

Megan, a 36-year-old nurse from Garwin, Iowa, purchased the ticket with her boyfriend, Mike Ellis, just before the sales cutoff time at a local Casey's store.

They were shocked when they checked the numbers at home and realized they had won.

After confirming their win at another Casey's gas station, Megan expressed her disbelief and excitement.

When Is the Next Powerball Drawing and How to Play?

The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Saturday, July 15, at 10:59 p.m. ET.

The cost to play Powerball is $2 per ticket. For an extra $1 per play, players can opt for the Power Play feature, which can multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times, APP. noted.

To participate, players need to select five numbers from a range of 1 to 69 for the white balls, and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball.

On the other hand, players may opt for the Quick Pick option to have numbers randomly generated for them.

To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls and the red Powerball. However, there are eight other prize tiers for matching fewer numbers, with winnings ranging from $4 to $1 million.

The Power Play option can increase non-jackpot prizes, but the 10X multiplier is only available for jackpots up to $150 million. The "Match 5" prize for the second-tier can reach a maximum of $2 million with Power Play.

In some jurisdictions, there is an additional add-on feature called "Double Play." For an extra $1 per play, players get another chance to match their numbers after each Powerball drawing.
