According to USA Today, Suzanne Somers "survived an aggressive form" of breast cancer for over 23 years. However, before she passed away, she revealed that her breast cancer returned back in July.

"I have been living with cancer since my 20s. And every time (it) pops up, I continue to bat it back," she previously stated in an interview, "I do my best not to let this insidious disease control me.

Somers has been very vocal about her battle with cancer, as well as her advocacy in combatting the disease. In a previous interview, she admitted that her battle had strengthened her bond with her husband.

"We have not spent one day apart in over 42 years," she said.

Remembering Suzanne Somers

Somers made a career playing "dumb blonde" characters on TV. She played the ditzy blonde, Chrissy Snow on "Three's Company." She describes the role as "one of the best dumb blondes that's ever been done."

She became very famous but has famously become the victim of the typical Hollywood misogyny. She was fired from the show despite becoming popular because of it, all because then she demanded equal pay with the series' male star.

As her acting career took off, she built a health and diet business empire and became more famous for the workout device, the ThighMaster. Many say she will not just be remembered as a successful actress, but as the New York Times put it, "a sex-positive health and diet mogul."
