Apparently, the pastry served in the White House is so good that President Obama found the comparison to "crack" acceptable.

During a LGBT Pride Month event on Monday, the president took time to say goodbye to Bill Yosses, the executive White House pastry chef, who is retiring.

"We call Bill the 'Crustmaster' because his pies -- I don't know what he does, whether he puts crack in them," President Obama joked.

First lady Michelle Obama, however, was quick to distill any potential confusion that the U.S. president has actually been eating crack.

"No he doesn't," she said immediately after laughing. "There is no crack in our pies."

Still, President Obama think there's something special about Yosses' pies.

"I'm just saying that when we first came to the White House, I don't know if some of you remember this, ... my cholesterol shot up, and the doctor was like, 'What happened? You had this really low cholesterol. You were really healthy,'" he recalled. "And I thought, it's the pie. .... So we had to establish like a really firm rule about no pie during the week."

According to ABC News, the president's 2013 Thanksgiving dinner featured nine pies instead of his standard six.

In March, Yosses, 60, announced his retirement and move to New York, where his husband lives. He plans to teach others about healthy eating, ABC News reports. At the time, Yosses described his retirement to the New York Times as a "bittersweet decision."

"I am also so grateful to him for his outstanding work, not just as the White House pastry chef, producing the most delectable creations for everything from birthday celebrations to state visits, but also as a key partner helping us get the White House kitchen garden off the ground and building a healthier future for our next generation," the first lady said in a statement in March. "I wish Bill and his husband, Charlie, all the best in their future endeavors."
