Kanye West, now called Ye, has apologized to the Jewish community over his antisemitic tirades. He posted the apology on Instagram and even said it in Hebrew.

"I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions," the Grammy-winning rapper wrote. "It was not my intention to offend or demean, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused."

"I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future," he added. "Your forgiveness is important to me and I am committed to making amends and promoting unity."

However, as the US Sun pointed out, this Kanye West apology came after the rapper slammed the Jewish community when he launched his controversial new album, "Vultures," on December 14.

He collaborated with Ty Dolla $ign to host a rave for their upcoming album, but that was later shut down by police. This led him to storm out of the event where he was filmed giving what was described as an antisemitic speech to the crowd, yelling, "Jesus Christ, Hitler, Ye! Sponsor that!"

He also ranted about other rap legends like Drake and Jay-Z, as well as his former business partners, Adidas, which infamously canceled their deal with his Yeezy brand because of his antisemitic comments.

Kanye West Apology Gets Mixed Reactions From the Jewish Community

One of Ye's biggest critics after he first started his antisemitic comments was the Jewish anti-hate group, the Anti-Defamation League. Soon after the rapper issued his apology in Hebrew, the group released a statement that praised Kanye West.

"After causing untold damage by using his vast influence and platform to poison countless minds with vicious antisemitism and hate, an apology in Hebrew may be the first step on a long journey towards making amends to the Jewish community and all those who he has hurt," the group told the Associated Press in a statement. "Ultimately, actions will speak louder than words but this initial act of contrition is welcome."

However, not everybody was happy as the American Jewish Committee criticized Kanye West's use of Hebrew in his apology.

"Beyond being bizarre and possibly a ploy to gain more attention, the Hebrew apology - posted without translation - is inaccessible to most American Jews who do not speak the language," the group told the Associated Press. "To be sure, using Hebrew to communicate with the Jewish community intentionally denies most American Jews-and, consequently, non-Jews-the ability to directly see Kanye's apology."

Kanye West's History of Antisemitism

When X was still known as Twitter, Kanye West got his account locked after he said that he was "going death con 3 [sic] on JEWISH PEOPLE." Meanwhile, his antisemitic comments also got him restricted on Instagram.

According to CNN, while Ye received a ton of backlash for his racist comments, he doubled down on the issue and repeated antisemitic conspiracy theories and other racist claims. It got so bad that Adidas canceled its lucrative multimillion-dollar deal with the rapper, with several other brands like Balenciaga also dropping him.
