Authorities are delving into the social media activity of Dylan Butler, the 17-year-old responsible for the tragic Iowa school shooting, per The Independent.

The incident occurred at Perry High School, resulting in one fatality and five injuries. Butler, a former student, was found dead at the scene.

As investigators probe his motive, attention is focused on several social media posts made around the time of the shooting, including a chilling TikTok video captioned, "Now we wait."

Moments before the attack, Butler posted the video from inside the school with a caption indicating an ominous wait.

The video featured him in a bathroom stall with a blue duffle bag, set to the song "Stray Bullet" by the German band KMFDM.

This song had also been associated with one of the shooters from the 1999 Columbine High School massacre.

Pictures on Butler's social media accounts depicted him posing with firearms, prompting federal and state investigators to examine his online presence on platforms like TikTok and Reddit.

Described as a quiet individual who endured years of bullying, Butler, the Iowa school shooting suspect, acted alone during the shooting, armed with a pump-action shotgun and a small-caliber handgun.
