The Golden Globe Awards for 2024 has officially kicked off the Hollywood Awards Season for this year, and some big winners include "Succession," "Oppenheimer," "Barbie," and more.

The Big Winners of Golden Globes 2024

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced all the big winners. With the dust settled, hundreds of red carpet photos, and hours of acceptance speeches, here are the big winners:

'Oppenheimer' Wins Best Motion Picture, Drama

Oppenheimer was seen as the heavy favorite coming into these awards, and it did dominate, even winning one of the biggest prizes of the night, Best Motion Picture, Drama. This biopic about the man behind the atomic bomb was one of 2023's most talked about movies along with its unlikely partner, "Barbie," as the two summer flicks went together to form "Barbenheimer."

'Poor Things' Wins Best Picture, Musical or Comedy

This science fantasy black comedy film starring Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef, Christopher Abbott, and Jerrod Carmichael triumphed over one of the favorites and the other half of "Barbenheimer," which is "Barbie." The film is regarded as one of Emma Stone's best performances yet.

Billie Eilish also won Best Original Song - Motion Picture for her original soundtrack for the film, "What Was I Made For?"

'Succession' Wins Best Television Series - Drama

It has been a stellar year for one of the most award-winning series running today. 2024 is no different as "Succession," a series roughly inspired by the Murdoch family, which runs Fox News, continues to dominate with its brand of family drama, backstabbing, and political intrigue.

Meanwhile, Kieran Culkin won Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Drama, while Matthew Macfayden won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television. Finally, Sarah Snook won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series - Drama.
