Christian Ziegler is now officially the former chairman of the Florida State Republican Party after the party decided to oust him over his sex scandal and sexual assault investigation.

His wife, Moms For Liberty Co-Founder Bridget Ziegler, is also facing calls to resign from her school board position from more conservative voices in the party after it also came out that she had a threesome with her husband and the woman accusing her husband of sexual assault.

While Ziegler has not been criminally charged with anything yet, he was removed from the state party's leadership with a unanimous vote, according to Blaise Ingoglia, former Republican Party of Florida Chairman and current member of the Florida Senate.

His removal came after other party leaders suspended him and removed all his authority as state party chairman last month. He has been facing calls to resign from some of the biggest names in the state's GOP, including Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator Rick Scott, and Rep. Matt Gaetz, the latter himself facing sexual assault allegations with minors.

Ziegler has since been denying all allegations levied against him. According to the affidavit obtained by CNN, he, his wife, and the victim originally planned a threesome but Bridget Ziegler could not make it. The woman canceled since she originally agreed so she could do it with the Moms For Liberty co-founder. However, the now-ousted Republican chairman still allegedly went to her house and sexually assaulted her there despite her refusing him.

Surveillance video captured the embattled Republican leader arriving at his accuser's home. She accused him of raping her in the bar stool but Ziegler maintains their encounter was consensual.

Florida Republican Party Decided on Christian Ziegler Replacement Already

Following his ouster, the Florida Republican Party then voted on who would be the one to replace him and they decided on Vice Chairman Evan Power to become the new chairman of the party. Power himself stated that the party is "moving forward" from Ziegler and his sex scandals.

However, the new Florida Republican Party chairman did acknowledge that there is a pause in the fundraising ahead of the 2024 elections as they did not anticipate lingering effects from the scandal surrounding Ziegler.

"I think it's a blip on the radar," he told local Florida PBS affiliate WGCU. "I think we're going to be able to pick up today fundraising-wise and move the party forward. So, I don't think there's going to be a long-term impact. I think you're going to see us win big again in November."

Christian Ziegler Investigation Looking Into More Than Just Rape

Last month, police combed through much of Christian Ziegler's online activities, seeking access to his Instagram messages, videos, and photos, including those that were under the "vanish" mode that makes them disappear from the app.

According to Politico, he is not just being investigated for sexual assault, but also if he violated Florida's anti-voyeurism laws as he may have also recorded his sexual encounter with his accuser, who allegedly told police that she did not consent to being recorded.
