The Royal Bahamas Police Force announced that a 27-year-old Florida woman who was traveling aboard a cruise ship to the Caribbean country was found dead inside her cabin.

Police from the main island of Grand Bahama confirmed that they were previously informed that the woman, a tourist from Florida, was found unresponsive in her cabin on an unidentified cruise line while the ship was on its way to the Bahamas.

Once the cruise ship arrived at Grand Bahama, medical personnel entered and tried to revive her by performing CPR. However, they were unable to successfully revive her, and she was soon declared dead on the spot.

The death that happened aboard the cruise ship going to the Bahamas came a month after the US Embassy in the capital of Nassau had to urge Americans to exercise caution in parts of the country after 18 killings were recorded around the country. The murders included ones that were conducted in broad daylight, according to CBS News.

However, the Bahamian government responded to this year's US State Department travel advisory that stated that the killings did not reflect the country's safety while also announcing new initiatives to reduce crime around the islands.

The discovery of the illegal substance then led to the arrest of an American tourist who was also a passenger aboard the cruise ship. That American man is 32 years old and is also a resident of Florida, per the Royal Bahamas Police Force. However, authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the dead Florida woman nor the Florida man that they just arrested.

Amber Shearer and Dongayla Dobson were friends, and they were both moms. The two decided to hop aboard the cruise ship for a kids-free vacation at the Pirates Cove Resort when a male staffer allegedly offered them a two-for-one tropical drink deal. However, the drink may have been spiked, and the two women were then lured into a secluded area where they were eventually assaulted while they were still impaired.
