Only six teams remain in this memorable 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.

Some are here for the first time, while others are trying to repeat past success. On Saturday afternoon, soccer fans around the world will get to watch Argentina face Belgium for a chance to play in the semifinals. The winner will play the winner of the Netherlands-Costa Rica game.

This will be the third time these countries play each other in the World Cup.

Argentina

Argentina is trying to win its third World Cup title and first since 1986. Argentine fans vividly remember the '86 World Cup not just because their home country won it all, but also because the team defeated Belgium 2-0 in the semifinals, and they are hoping history will repeat itself.

For Argentina, Lionel Messi is the gift that keeps on giving. Not only is he the team's leading scorer, with four goals, but he's also the only player with more than one. Opposing defenses have double-teamed him, but his passing is just as impressive as his shooting. Argentina defeated Switzerland in the Round of 16 1-0 after Angel Maria scored in extra time. Belgium has one of the best defenses in the contest, so this squad is going to need play possession and keepaway.

Belgium

Belgium hasn't made it past the Round of 16 since losing to Argentina in the 1986 World Cup, 2-0. Belgium fans prefer to remember the 1982 World Cup, when the team defeated Argentina in group play. Belgium has never made a World Cup final, and the team has been competing since the first tournament, held in 1930.

This team differs from Argentina in many ways. It doesn't have a superstar scorer, but it does have a lot more balance. This team has scored six goals in five games. That may not seem impressive, but those six goals are from six players, creating a difficult defensive game plan for Argentina. Argentina and Belgium have very strong defensive squads this year, with championship aspirations. Thibaut Courtois has been one of the best goalkeepers in this World Cup, allowing only one goal in group play. The goal he allowed against the United States came in extra time.

Predictions

These teams are very skilled on defense and in passing. Argentina is the best in the world for time of possession, which will be the deciding factor. Argentina wins 3-1 and moves on to the semifinals.

Where and when to watch

These teams kick off at 12 p.m. EST Saturday at the Estádio de Nacional Garrincha, in the capital city of Brasilia in front of about 70,000 fans. Fans can watch live stream action of the game via WatchESPN.
