According to rumors, "Dancing With the Stars" has its eyes on a United States men's national team soccer player for a contestant on Season 19.

Hollywood Life reported Wednesday that the dancing competition show is interested in having Tim Howard as one of its celebrity participants thanks to his performance at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which featured a World Cup Record of 16 saves against Belgium, according to Yahoo.

"Everyone saw Tim get his hands on almost everything during the World Cup game against Belgium, and now 'Dancing' wants to get his hands on one of the dancers," a source described as "connected to the show" said.

The tabloid website also claimed that Howard is already being hypothetically partnered with one of the "Dancing With the Stars" professional dancers.

"Cheryl Burke is the frontrunner if Tim joins the show," the source said. "She wants to dance with him."

Apparently, Howard's offer at the shot of the mirror ball trophy is just around the corner.

"Once the holiday passes, he will 100 percent be asked to join the show," the source said.

Last month, Hollywood Life also claimed that LA Galaxy Player Landon Donovan was heading the ABC show's "wish list" despite not making the World Cup this year. The website claimed, if "Dancing With the Stars" could not book Donovan, they would go after another "soccer hunk."

"Now that everyone is having World Cup fever and Landon was left off the team ... they want him to win another trophy: the Mirror Ball trophy," a source said. "They are putting the full court press on getting him this time and will also reach out to anyone from the U.S. team that makes a name for themselves in the next month. They are very interested in making it finally happen. What better time than now?"

It has not been clarified whether plans with Donovan fell through or if the show is interested in both athletes. Neither ABC nor "Dancing With the Stars" have commented on the rumors.

Season 19 of "Dancing With the Stars" is scheduled to debut this fall.
