Actor George Clooney, Hollywood's most celebrated bachelor, finally decided to make a full commitment to love this past April. But the Daily Mail has published some serious allegations about London lawyer Amal Alamuddin and Clooney's engagement that drove "The Monuments Men" actor to defend his future family.

Amal Alamuddin comes from a Druze family, a "monotheistic religious and social community found primarily in Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Jordan." "The People of Unity" allegedly have strict rules against their women marrying non-Druze men, according to some "friends" of Alamuddin.

The Daily Mail says that these unnamed "friends" claim that Amal is risking being "cast out of the community" because of her Hollywood fiancé. The newspaper points out "several women have been murdered" for not abiding by Druze rules.

Clooney told USA Today that "none of the story is true."

He first of all says that Amal's mother isn't even Druze. "She has not been to Beirut since Amal and I have been dating, and she is in no way against the marriage," Clooney said.

"To exploit religious differences where none exist is at the very least negligent and more appropriately dangerous," he added.

"We have family members all over the world, and the idea that someone would inflame any part of that world for the sole reason of selling papers should be criminal," Clooney concluded.

Even though the Druze rarely marry outside of their community, some of them have happily welcomed George Clooney. Walid Jumblatt, a political leader of the sect in Lebanon, told the Associated Press Clooney will bring us "great publicity, he can make a movie about the Druze sect." He also told the publication that he hoped the couple would soon visit the Druze heartland.

The Daily Mail has not responded for comment. Clooney and Alamuddin have not revealed a wedding date yet, and despite rumors of calling off the engagement by the media, it is obvious that they are happy. This will be Clooney's second marriage (he was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989-1993) and Alamuddin's first.
