He may have admitted to smoking pot as a young man, but President Obama passed on an offer to legally smoke it Tuesday evening while out at a bar in Colorado.

Obama was out with Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, who used to own the bar.

Obama played pool with the governor and beat him pretty good. Hickenlooper left five balls on the table.

One bar patron offered a hit of pot to Obama and recorded it on a cellphone video. The President laughed it off and kept moving through the bar while shaking hands. That video was then posted on the photo sharing social media site Instagram.

Colorado recently legalized recreational marijuana in the state. It was no surprise that when Obama's motorcade drove through the city earlier in the night they saw a man holding a sign that said "Free weed 4 Obama" and a similar sign at a marijuana dispensary.

When another patron offered to buy Obama a beer, he replied "it's too late, man. I just got one."

Obama seemed to be having a pretty good time according to witnesses. One woman may have put down his mood a little bit when she told him that her brother died in Afghanistan four years ago.

Obama hugged the woman and gave her a special coin.

Obama also walked the streets of downtown Denver and greeted citizens. He was even photographed shaking hands with a man in a horse mask.

While Obama has admitted to trying pot in his early days, he has spoke serious about the issue recently. He has said that he "made some bad choices" and didn't consider "the harm it could do."

Obama is on a three-day road trip. Wednesday he will attend a fundraiser for Sen. Mark Udall and then he'll head to Texas.
