Three people were injured this year during the 6th running of the bulls at the San Fermin festival on Saturday in the Spanish city of Pamplona. Fortunately no one was gored.

Fox News Latino reports that two of the injured men were taken to the Navarre Hospital Complex and have been looked at for bruising on the arms. The third injured runner was treated for bad bruising on his right leg.

Jose Aldaba told CTV News that no one was gored in the run but that someone was taken to the hospital for a suspected bone fracture.

La Prensa reports that the Red Cross officials say 44 people have been treated since Monday and that 36 had been sent to hopitals in the area.

The DYA ambulance treated 35 people at the festival though the majority were for alcohol related illnesses.

The bulls are scheduled to be fought against Juan Jose Padilla, Pepe Moral and Jimenez Fortes on Saturday afternoon at the Pamplona bullring. The festival started last Sunday and is known around the world for its daily running of the bulls.

The festival holds eights runs at 8:00 am each morning between July 7 and July 14. This run marks the 6th.

The weekend runs tend to attract the most runners. The run is held on an 850-meter course from a holding pin to the Pamplona bullring. The largest run is expected to be on Sunday when bulls from the renowned Miura breeding ranch will be released.

The ranch is famous for breeding bulls that are heavy and fearsome. Some have been recorded weighing up to 695 kilograms.

Heavy rains caused the cobblestone course to become slippery and several of the bulls lost their footing.

Four Spaniards and an American have been gored this year during the runs. Fifteen people have died since record-keeping began in 1924.
