When Univision runs with a theme, it really knocks it out of the park.

For Thursday night's Premios Juventud show, everything was made to look like a carnival. It started on the red carpet, where the best in Latin entertainment played games and spun a wheel of social media. Depending on where the wheel landed, celebrities had to do different things, such as posing behind boards with face holes or answering fan questions.

The one activity most celebrities struggled with was Hula-Hooping.

The red carpet kicked off with a performance by Sonus, and then plenty of stars impressed with their style.

Fashion HIghs, Lows of Awards Night

For the ladies, Becky G, who wore a nude-colored dress, Roselyn Sanchez, who accessorized with statement earrings, and Natalia Jimenez, who wore a white dress, impressed.

For the men, David Bisbal's textured coat and Romeo Santos' casual style made a splash. Prince Royce received mix reviews on his asymmetrical white shirt.

Austin Mahone was a fan favorite, and it seemed he tried to get the most out of the experience. He used the Hula-Hoop, slid down a slide and posed with Becky G.

Inside, the show was started by Chino and Nacho, who descended from the ceiling, a technique which would be repeated by other artists throughout the show.

Gerardo Ortiz received the first award of the night, and after that, it was a pretty performance-heavy show.

Best and Worst Performances of the Night

Luis Coronel slowed it down a little for his performance of "Tenerte." He wore a letterman's jacket with an LC logo.

Becky G was one of the earlier performers. She switched into a red crop top and sparkly jeans to perform a Spanglish version of "Shower."

Her performance was followed by Prince Royce, who used social media to engage with his fans. Viewers were prompted to use #FotosDePrinceRoyce on Twitter, so that they could possibly win an autographed item by the crooner. The stage was adorned in his baby pictures, which the cameras often focused on.

Superstar singer Enrique Iglesias is another person who really got the crowd moving. He performed his two current hits, "El Perdedor" and "Bailando." He went from slow and mellow to getting the crowd dancing.

He received the Supernova Award, during which highlights of his Grammy and Billboard award-winning career were shown.

Romeo Santos was one of the big winners of the night, and in one trip to the stage, he said his child's "good luck" text was helping him.

One disappointing part of the night was Wisin, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin's performance of "Adrenalina."

Though Wisin was there, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin appeared as holograms.

But surely many forgot about their sadness when William Levy appeared on the stage. The actor introduced fellow Cuban Pitbull.

The "Timber" and "Give Me Everything" rapper took to the stage and thanked his fans, especially those in Miami.

"I want to thank Miami. Without you, there's no Pitbull," he said as he read off his cell phone.

Chiquis Rivera was one of the last performers of the night, and though it was her first time performing, she exuded confidence.

The last performance of the night was Carlos Vives, who like Chiquis Rivera, and Chino y Nacho, appeared from the ceiling.

Entertainment Gets Serious With Border Children Controversy

Pitbull and Univision news anchor Jorge Ramos both took the time to address the immigration issue that is currently plaguing the United States.

Though they spoke about it at separate times, both said that these are children that need our help.

"I want to talk and you've seen it," Ramos said. "Tens of thousands of children have arrived at the border. They are coming by themselves. They are coming because they are fleeing violence. They are fleeing gangs and drugs. Because they are very poor, they are coming here because their parents or other family members are here."

When Pitbull accepted his award, he simply dedicated the award to "the children and families that are trying to cross the border looking for the American dream."

The rapper performed a medley of his songs, one of which he was joined by Mahone.
