In previous episodes, Maria decided she wanted to kill Montserrat, Rosario and Alejandro. She knew that she couldn't get Alejandro to love her, so she thought that no one else should have him either. (Catch up on episodes 184 to 188 here.)

Here's what takes place in episodes 189 to 193.

Episode 189: After Refugio is hurt, Esmeralda pleads with him not to die. Refugio tries to tell her who the Alacrán is. José Luis calls Esmeralda and asks her to put him in contact with Refugio, and he finds out that he has already died. Dimitrio asks Pedro who the Alacrán is. Pedro responds by telling him that not only does he exist, he is also very close to him.

Episode 190: José Luis tells Montserrat that she can rest easy because he's not trying to take her daughter away. He said that he is dropping the lawsuit. Graciela tells Dimitrio that she can't feel her legs and that she needs his help. Victor tells Nadia that Pedro eyed him up, telling him that the Alacrán would kill him. Adolfo arrived and told them that he was el Alacrán.

Episode 191: José Luis tells Montserrat that he is convinced that the only woman that he has ever truly loved is Angelica. He tells her that he no longer loves her. Pedro tells Adolfo that he found the perfect place to end his life.

Episode 192: Graciela visits Finita and lets her know that she came to visit to beg her not to marry Adolfo. With tears in her eyes, Nadia asks Adolfo if he really is the Alacrán. Anselmo tells Adolfo that there's no way he would officiate his wedding. Adolfo tells Finita that he needs to talk to her before she becomes his wife.

Episode 193: With a gun in his hand, Dimitrio tells Adolfo that he's the one who killed Monica. Adolfo says that it wasn't something he wanted to do. He runs toward a helicopter, where Pedro waits for him, while Dimitrio fires at him.
