The highly anticipated movie version of the controversial E.L. James erotica novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" has released its first official trailer, and of course, all eyes are watching.

According to Variety, this includes the nonprofit organization Morality in Media that has released a statement saying that the preview romanticizes and normalizes sexual violence and in effect deceives the public into believing the same.

The issued statement further described the relationship of lead characters Ana and Christian Grey as abuse of power, coercion and female inequality aside from the previously mentioned sexual violence. According to the statement, it wrongly glamorizes violence against women.

Morality in Media opposes pornography and labels "Fifty Shades of Grey" as something that sends a dangerous message to men, saying that it gives them the idea that the relationship portrayed in the novel is something that women really want. On the other hand, women are also given the idea that obedience to men can fix the problem of them being violent and controlling.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" has been under intense scrutiny by both the public and critics in every stage of its production due to the controversial status of the best-selling erotic novel. According to CNN, even the fans were not initially satisfied with the casting choice after they had their own ideas of who should portray Ana and Christian Grey.

Originally cast to play the role of the billionaire was Charlie Hunnam until he had to drop out due to conflicts in schedule. Jamie Dornan has since taken on the role to be in the film with Dakota Johnson.

The nonprofit organization slammed the film and ended its statement by asking the public if "Fifty Shades of Grey" should be allowed to set an example to their sons and daughters -- if they want their kids to become like Christian Grey who practices "violent masculinity that degrades men as well?"
