Morgan Freeman appeared on Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show" on Thursday night and did one of the greatest comical stunts in history: He inhaled helium and spoke in a squeaky voice.

While some will say that such acts amount to comedic folderol, hearing Freeman's iconic voice, which livened documentaries like "March of the Penguins" and has added a grandiose air to his roles, at such a high pitch makes for comedy gold.

After introducing Freeman, Fallon mentioned his TV show "Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman," which airs on the Science Channel. Freeman asked Fallon to say the whole title, and Fallon retorted with," I apologize, I apologize. Well, this is 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.'

"Everyone loves your voice, but I always wondered what your voice would sound like on helium," Fallon told the veteran actor. He then pulled out two big red balloons.

He handed one to the Academy Award-winning actor, reassuring him the he would do it alongside him. Both of the men inhaled and began a hilarious conversation.

"Do you ever want to go to space?" Fallon said. Freeman replied with a higher pitched voice but not as high as it could go. Regardless Fallon and the audience laughed.

"I shouldn't be doing this," Freeman said, as the audience laughed. "It is very undignified." He then inhaled more and told Fallon, "I'm never coming back."
