There is barely a week left before "Guardians of the Galaxy" opens in theaters worldwide. The scheduled release of the movie is on Aug. 1. Like the other Marvel Superhero movies that are coming up, "Guardians of the Galaxy" is present at this year's San Diego Comic-Con with some of its stars coming all dressed up in their costumes.

While there were many speculations before, the final cast of the film includes the following actors:

Benicio Del Toro - The Collector
Bradley Cooper - Rocket (voice)
Dave Bautista - Drax
Djimon Hounsou - Korath
Glenn Close - Nova Prime
John C. Reilly - Corpsman Dey
Karen Gillan - Nebula
Lee Pace - Ronan
Michael Rooker - Yondu Udonta
Vin Diesel - Groot (voice)
Zoe Saldana - Gamora

The movie, another offering from Marvel Studios, does not have that much of a wide appeal to average movie-goers because the heroes are not that well known. However, it has the potential to become another Marvel superhero movie winner, with its light story and comedic approach, according to Screen Rant. It had its premiere in Hollywood on July 21, and it was well received with numerous positive reviews.

The plot revolves around Peter Quill, who found himself caught in the middle of a conflict within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As a young boy he was abducted by aliens. The movie time-jumps 26 years into the future where Peter Quill is now known as Star-Lord and spends his days as a thief and looter.

He inadvertently stole a mysterious orb and soon found himself chased by space bad guys as he became public enemy number one because the orb contains a power capable of destroying the world. Ronan the Accuser sends Gamora, his right-hand assassin, to find Quill.

Caught and placed in a high-security prison, he later formed an alliance with a motley crew that consists of Groot (alien tree), Rocket (genetically-modified, hyper-aggressive and sarcastic raccoon), Drax (The Destroyer, a killing machine). He also formed an uneasy alliance with Gamora. Their mission was to fight Ronan, grandmaster Thanos and Nebula and her pirates.
