One of the biggest unveilings from yesterday's Comic-Con event was that fans of "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy" finally got a glimpse of the crossover episode between the two popular cartoon TV shows.

"The Simpsons Guy" is the titled crossover episode of the two iconic shows. The five-minute sneak peek clip features popular characters from both shows, while the executive producers of "The Family Guy" revealed some nuggets of their upcoming episodes, and "The Simpsons" panel revealed some of their own, as well as a hologram of Homer Simpson.

How long has "The Simpson Guy" been in the making? The crossover episode has been on the drawing board since last year's Comic-Con. "Family Guy" executive producers Rich Appel and Steve Callaghan introduced the clip. It features the Griffin family unknowingly arriving in Springfield; and patriarchs Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin forming a fast friendship with one another over doughnuts.

And, also Peter and Homer having a massive fist fight over beer: Quahog's Pawtucket Patriot Ale versus Springfield's Duff Beer. Peter and Homer's fight is similar to that of Peter and the Chicken's fights. Meanwhile, Bart and Stewie make prank phone calls to Moe the bartender, IndieWire reported.

There is also some sort of recognition between the two shows, which has "Family Guy" crediting "The Simpsons" for the Seth MacFarlane show's existence. There are also cameos of the character Bob from "Bob's Burgers," and characters from both shows make an appearance.

Besides "The Simpson Guy" crossover episode that was teased, "Family Guy" producers mentioned some upcoming episodes and big guest stars on their show. There will be a Christmas episode, where Jesus comes to Quahog. Peter and the gang reunite with Jesus and discover that he is a virgin, so they band together to help Jesus loose his virginity, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Liam Neeson is also expected to make an appearance, playing himself. Appel, executive producer for the show, says that Neeson was willing to make fun of himself. Also, other voice guest stars expected to appear are Julie Bowen from "Modern Family," Jeff Garlin from "The Goldbergs," Allison Janney, Lea Thompson and sportscaster Joe Buck, Entertainment Weekly reported.

The new "Family Guy" season is expected to feature Meg getting recruited as a foot-fetish model; Stewie getting pregnant with Brian's baby; and Chris, who might fail a history test -- Brian and Stewie decide to help him by taking him on a "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"-style trip through time, Entertainment Weekly reported. There is also a "Star Trek" film spoof in the works, similar to MacFarlane's "Star Wars" parody with the "Blue Harvest."

At "The Simpsons" panel held earlier in the day, show creator Matt Groening introduced the hologram of Homer Simpson to the audience and to the stage, IndieWire reported. Homer made a joke about a "Simpsons" movie sequel that is yet to be green-lighted. And the panel also discussed another crossover episode of their own: "The Simpsons" and "Futurama." Fans of these shows got a few clips of the upcoming "The Simpsons-Futurama" mashup.

"The Simpsons Guy" will be an hour-long episode, and it is expected to air on Sept. 28, while "The Simpson-Futurama" mashup will air Nov. 9, titled "Simpsorama."
