Mike Tyson has his eye on Jamie Foxx.

The former boxer would like the Academy Award-winning actor to portray him in a movie about his life, notes Uptown Magazine.

"Me and Jamie Foxx have been talking and he's willing to take that role and portray me as Mike Tyson, doing my life story," he said. "I think he's splendid because he's really up to par. I think he would do a magnificent job."

Tyson added that though Foxx may not have the build, this was something he could work on.

Tyson and his wife, Lakiha Spicer, were said to be working with writer Larry Sloman earlier this year. It was rumored that Spicer wanted an unknown to play the heavyweight boxer in his younger years.

This isn't a project that just caught Foxx's attention.

In 2009, he spoke to MTV about wanting to play the boxer.

"I've reached out to Mike, and I've been open about it," Foxx said. "I think that, of all the biopics that are out there, he has the most interesting story that no one has ever heard."

Foxx added that he personally knows there is more to the boxer than what headlines would have you believe.

Foxx starred in 2001's "Ali," but in 2009, he was confident the story would still stand out.

"It's different ... This is the stories that we have today. There are no redemptive stories now -- there are just stories that happen," he said. "Here's this guy that could do no wrong, and everything he did, we loved it. And then, when he wasn't the heavyweight champion, anything he did was considered foul and just horrible."

There is already an IMDb page about the movie, but there isn't any information on it. No stars or directors are tied to it.
