"Into The Storm" was released on Aug. 8 in the United States. It will be released in the UK on Aug. 20, according to Yahoo! Movies.

The movie deals with a disaster caused by freak weather conditions where the town of Silverton, Oklahoma, was ravaged by several tornadoes in a single day. The erratic and deadly tornadoes placed the town at their mercy by veering away, dissipating then changing course and intensifying, causing the whole town to go into a state of panic.

While many were looking for and finding shelter, the story also dealt with the drive and ambition of storm chasers to get that once-in-a-lifetime shot which had been elusive so far. The movie is told through the camera lens and eyes of the professional storm chasers, who experienced something that never happened before.

The disaster movie is directed by Steven Quale, whose previous works include "Titanic," "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle," "The Haunted Mansion," "Aliens of the Deep," "Avatar" and "Final Destination 5". He has worked with James Cameron for more than 16 years, starting with "The Abyss". He also served as one of the current movie's editors.

Richard Armitage plays the main character, Gary, a vice-principal of a high school who has two sons. Nathan Kress (Freddie Benson in "iCarly") plays the role of Trey, one of Gary's two sons. Sarah Wayne Callies plays Allison. Matt Walsh plays the role of Pete, the leader of the storm chasers. Arlen Escarpeta is Daryl and Kyle Davis is Donk. Scott Lawrence is the school's principal. Jeremy Sumpter is Jacob and Jon Reep is Reevis.

The movie received a mixed review and some critics gave negative reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 20 percent approval rating, and it scored 44 at Metacritic. Most of the positive reviews were given by people on social networking sites. Scott Mendelson of Forbes gave it a positive review saying that it was visually dazzling and had flawless visual effects, something that viewers normally expect from big-scale disaster films.
