The Mixed Martial Arts fighter War Machine was arrested Friday for allegedly beating his former girlfriend, adult film star Christy Mack. War Machine, whose real name is Jonathan Koppenhaver, was taken into custody around 2 p.m. Friday in Simi Valley, California, according to police.

Koppenhaver, a native of Simi Valley, is accused of entering Mack's Las Vegas home in the early hours of Aug. 8 and beating her, causing 18 broken bones and a lacerated liver, police said. He is being held without bond.

Authorities issued a warrant for Koppenhaver's arrest Tuesday with charges of battery and assault with a deadly weapon among others. He tweeted his innocence earlier on Twitter.

"The cops will never give me fair play, never believe me. Still deciding what to do but at the end of the day it's all just heart breaking," he wrote online.

Mack posted several pictures of her injuries, which are severe and cover her body. She also chronicled in a statement details about how Koppenhaver stabbed her with a knife several times and beat her.

"He made me undress and shower in front of him, then dragged me out and beat my face," Mack said. "I have no recollection of how many times I was hit, I just know my injuries that resulted from my beating. My injuries include 18 broken bones around my eyes, my nose is broken in two places, I am missing teeth and several more are broken.

"I also attained several lesions from a knife he got from my kitchen," she went on to say. "He pushed the knife into me in some areas such as my hand, ear, and head. He also sawed much of my hair off with this dull knife. After some time, the knife broke off of the handle and continued to threaten me with the blade. I believed I was going to die. He has beaten me many times before, but never this badly. He took my phone and cancelled all of my plans for the following week to make sure no one would worry about my whereabouts."

Mack was able to escape to a neighbor's home and had them call 911.
