On Sunday Aug. 17, Oprah Winfrey paid tribute to the late Robin Williams by airing two of his 14 appearances on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," TV Guide reports.

The OWN network aired Williams' first appearance on Winfrey's show in 1988 where he revealed personal stories about filming one of his now classic films, "Good Morning, Vietnam."

OWN then aired Williams' 1991 interview that the network described as a candid appearance in which the late actor opened up "about everything from drug abuse, what being married to him is like, fatherhood, working on the feature films 'The Fisher King' and 'Dead Poet's Society,' his creative inspiration and his thoughts on aging and turning 40." At the beginning of Williams' 1991 interview on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," Winfrey describes Williams as "brilliant, one of a kind, totally insane."

"If you ask anyone to describe my special guest today -- you'll hear words like 'brilliant,' 'one of a kind,' 'totally insane,' 'wacked out of his mind,' and 'pure genius,' which are all good descriptions don't you think?" Winfrey began her introduction.

"His spectacular -- and I mean spectacular comedic wit is only rivaled by his superb acting ability for which he's won back to back Oscar nominations for 'Good Morning, Vietnam' ... and 'Dead Poets Society,' which happens to be one of my favorite all time movies. "

Following Winfrey's introduction, Williams makes a grand entrance and is welcomed with a standing ovation by Winfrey's studio audience.

Williams and Winfrey then discuss a wide array of topics regarding Williams' life and career including his role in "The Fisher King," his work in helping the homeless, his upbringing and his marriage.

Winfrey later reveals a clip of Williams' mother Laurie Williams praising her son for his success and talent.

"The first movie [I saw Robin in] was 'Popeye.' And if you remember the opening scene is Robin in a rowboat in a storm. ... And I thought, 'That's Robin. My little boy Robin, look at him. Eat your heart out world, here he comes!"
