Beijing police have confirmed the drug arrests of actor Jaycee Chan, son of popular actor Jackie Chan, and actor Kai Ko, according to the Straits Times. After some worrisome speculations as to their whereabouts because they could not be contacted, the police confirmed that the arrests were made in Dongcheng, Beijing, on Aug. 14. Both of the actors tested positive for marijuana, and the police said that they confessed that they used the drug.

It was also revealed that the police seized over 100 grams of marijuana from Chan's residence. The following day an unemployed man from Beijing suspected of selling the drugs to Jaycee Chan was arrested.

Reports said Jaycee Chan is also suspected of harboring drug users, an offense which carries a maximum jail sentence of three years. The arrest was confirmed by Angie Chai, manager for Kai Ko. She also confirmed that the two actors would be in administrative detention for 14 days and charged afterwards. Jaycee Chan will be charged for drug use and possession as well as intent to sell, and Kai Ko will be charged for drug use.  

Ko's manager was very apologetic and issued a public apology for neglecting the life and education of their talent. Jaycee Chan, who was arrested at his home in Beijing, is a singer and also an actor like his father. He is 32 years old and was born and raised in the United States. While his father has a string of successful films, Jaycee Chan does not seem to have his father's luck for movies as his have failed at the box office in China.

The arrest of the Taiwan and Hong Kong actors were just one of a strings of arrests of celebrities using drugs, according to Daily MailAlthough Jackie Chan went to Beijing on hearing the news of his son's arrest, he and his son are not on good terms, and Jackie had said in 2011 that he would not be leaving his fortune to his son when he dies because he wanted his son to be responsible and earn his keep.
