Sin City fans won't have to wait long: "Sin City: A Dame to Kill" will hit theaters on Aug. 22, according to IMDB. That's just a few days away from now and is welcome news for die-hard fans of the series, which, to them, is long overdue because it was previously announced that the sequel was to be shown last October.

Like its predecessor, the Sin City sequel will also be a collection of short stories with several back and forth jumps. The stories are interwoven by the residents of Basin City. The story from the comic, "A Dame to Kill For," the second story in the Sin City series by Frank Miller, serves as the unifying plot for the sequel.

Josh Brolin will be playing Dwight McCarthy, a younger version of the character in the first movie that was played by Clive Owen. Eva Green will play Ava Lord, the femme fatale. Some original story materials were written by Frank Miller for the sequel, which is directed by Robert Rodriguez. William Monahan, an Oscar-winning screenwriter, also provided materials.

It will be a reunion of sorts for Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez and some of the cast members from the first Sin City movie. Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke are in the sequel. New cast members include Ray Liotta and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Major cast members include Mickey Rourke as Marv. Jessica Alba will play Nancy Callahan, while Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Johnny. Josh Brolin is Dwight McCarthy, and Eva Green is the sexy Ava Lord. John Hartigan will be played by Bruce Willis, and Senator Roark will be played by Powers Boothe. Rosario Dawson will be Gail, and Dennis Haysbert will portray the huge bodyguard, Manute. Ray Liotta will be Joey, and Christopher Lloyd as Kroenig.

Others in the cast include Christopher Meloni (Mort), Jeremy Piven (Bob), Jaime King (Wendy and Goldie), Juno Temple (Sally), Stacey Keach (Wallenquist), Marton Csokas (Damien Lord), Jude Ciccolella (Liebowitz), Jamie Chung (Miho), Julia Garner (Marcy), and Alexa PenaVega (Gilda). Lady Gaga will play the role of Bertha.
