According to The Independent, the acts that will be performing at the 31st Annual MTV Video Music Awards include Beyoncé, 5 Seconds of Summer, Ariana Grande and Usher.

Nicki Minaj, Sam Smith, Maroon 5 and Iggy Azalea will also perform. It will be another star-studded affair with several other acts slated for the much awaited music video awards night. Just check out this list of other confirmed performers: Charlie XCX and Fifth Harmony will be performing in the pre-show. Main performers aside from those mentioned above include Zedd, Jessie J, Rita Ora, Taylor Swift and DJ Mustard.

The annual music video awards from MTV will be held at the Forum in Inglewood, California on Aug. 24. The pre-show will be on air at 8 p.m. (ET) while the main show will broadcast an hour later at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). Pre-show hosts are Lucy Hale of "Pretty Little Liars" and MTV's Christina Garibaldi and Sway, who will be covering the red carpet event of the show. Main show presenters include Trey Songz, Taylor Schilling, Demi Lovato, Lorde, Nina Dobrev, Jason Derulo, Laverne Cox and Uzo Aduba, according to the listing posted on the MTV site.

According to the LA Times, Beyoncé leads all artists with eight nominations coming from selections including "Pretty Hurts," "Partition" and "Drunk in Love." Following her is hip hop artist Eminem with seven nominations along with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.

Contenders for Video of the Year include "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX, Beyoncé's "Drunk in Love" featuring Jay-Z, "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus, "Chandelier" by Sia and "Happy" by Pharrell Williams.

In the Best Male Video category, contenders include Eminem for "The Monster" featuring Rihanna, "All of Me" by John Legend, "Sing" by Ed Sheeran featuring Pharrell Williams, "Stay with Me" by Sam Smith and "Happy" by Pharrell Williams.

"Fancy" by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX, "Partition" by Beyoncé, "Problem" by Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea, "Royals" by Lorde and "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry featuring Juicy J are the contenders for Best Female Video.
