The cable channel FXX began its 12-day marathon of "The Simpsons" Thursday morning at 10 a.m. ET. The binge will end after 552 episodes and a feature-length movie on Sept. 1 at midnight.

This exhaustive marathon marks FXX's secured syndication rights of the cartoon in an agreement last year that was called the "biggest off-network deal ever." Beyond this 12-day airing, FXX is also planning the launch of SimpsonsWorld, an online portal for users to access every episode on their computers or mobile devices.

The newest 26th season of "The Simpsons" will premiere on Sept. 28, and it is rumored that a major character will die in the first episode. Producer Al Jean said the premiere episode will be "bigger than we thought it was going to be."

"It's not going to be this blood bath where they all get murdered," Jean said in Rolling Stone.

Entertainment media has tips to help viewers enjoy the 12 days without losing relationships or skipping showers.

In Entertainment Weekly, they advise stretching for at least 20 minutes before doing the Bartman as well as "every time Homer and Marge 'snuggle,' think how nice it would be if you had any kind of human relationship."

Vulture said they advise making miniseries out of reoccurring themes, like all of the "Treehouse Horror" episodes or each original song over the years. They also have a surprising suggestion: to skip most of the first season entirely.

"Frankly, season one is not jam-packed with classics," Vulture writers Jesse David Fox and Josh Kurp said. "And because the show essentially resets every episode, and because it was still figuring out who these characters were, you won't really be missing much by skipping most of the first season. You can even skip a bunch of season two."

The encouraged binge-watching will ensure that, for the next 12 days, there will always be something to watch.
