"Destiny" is coming to a store near you Sept. 9 and it's a long-awaited game for many. That's because this game was created by the same people who brought us "Halo" and the initial reviews of the game show that it will be a great game.

ActiVision, who is publishing "Destiny," is already predicting great success for the game. They boasted that ShortList has considered the game to be "The FPS Event of the Year." It's also being touted as ActiVision's most awaited title of the year.

"Destiny" is a first-person shooter that is set 700 years in the future. There's only one city left on Earth and the Guardians must protect it.

But, "Destiny" is a unique first-person shooter; it's an open world shooter. It's not a massively multiplayer online game (MMO) but it will have MMO elements. "Destiny" will have a "match-making" system to pair players with similar players online that can help them complete tasks.

Like most MMO games, players will be able to create their character and choose its race and class. Class is important in the game because it will determine how the game ends up being played and what experiences you'll face. The three races will be Humans, Awoken and Exo. There are also three classes: Hunters, Warlocks and Titans.

No PC Version Expected

For now, there's no PC version expected for "Destiny." The game's senior environment artist Jason Sussman said that the focus for "Destiny" is to make the game available for the four main consoles.

"Wouldn't that be awesome [a PC version]?! ... But honestly we've been so focused on delivering the game on four consoles and it's such an undertaking. It's the most inclusive thing that the Bungie has been working on," he said.
