Former 'Scandal' star Columbus Short was arrested for failing to appear in court for his domestic violence case involving his estranged wife, Tanee McCall.

The 31-year-old troubled actor has failed to appear in court three times because he was in Barbados instead, BET reports.

Last month, the judge became so "enraged" at Short's irresponsible behavior that the judge issued an arrest warrant for Short and set his bail at $40,000, TMZ reported.

However, Short continued to miss scheduled court dates.

And after three no-shows in court, the judge raised Short's bail from $40,000 to $50,000. [BET]

When Short finally showed up to court early Thursday morning "in hopes of posting the bail," he was immediately arrested on the spot, The New York Daily News reported.

"He's been taken into custody," Short's lawyer Jeff Jacquet told The New York Daily News early Thursday morning. "He was cuffed in court and remanded immediately. The judge obviously isn't happy."

Short is currently being held in custody at the Van Nuys courthourse.

In addition to Short's domestic violence case, he was scheduled for another court hearing on Thursday regarding a separate criminal battery case involving a man he hit during a bar fight.

However, because he is currently in custody for missing his domestic violence hearings, Short was unable to attend his battery hearing. Now, as additional punishment, the judge appointed for Short's criminal battery case has issued a warrant for Short's arrest and has set the actor's bail for $250,000.  [BET]

Despite Short's hefty track record for missing court appearances and showing up late, his lawyer insists the actor is taking his charges seriously and blames "troubles with his flight" as the reason for his no-shows.  [The New York Daily News]

In April, Short was fired from the hit ABC show "Scandal" because of his real-life scandal and drama.
