The New York Head and Neck Institute informed former Buffalo Bills great Jim Kelly that recent examinations revealed that there is no more remaining evidence for sinus cancer.

Dr. Peter Constantino, the executive director of the institute, said in a statement that Kelly showed no signs of cancer during their most recent evaluation, following a series of radiation and chemotherapy sessions and a three-month waiting period.

"The treatments so far have completely eliminated Mr. Kelly's pain, and his level of function has essentially returned to normal. Further, on physical examination, there is no evidence of cancer," Constantino said in a statement posted on the Bills' official website.

Kelly is set to undergo further evaluations to determine new treatments that he might need, but Constantino pointed out that there is a great chance the Bills legend won't need more therapy.

"It is possible that no further treatment will be required, and the testing over the next week will define this issue," Constantino said.

Jill Kelly, Jim Kelly's wife, also posted the development on her Instagram account where she also revealed that her husband will undergo biopsies just to confirm the findings from the recent evaluation.

"We have come away from our checkup visit in NYC encouraged and hopeful," Jill Kelly said. "Preliminary scan results have necessitated the need for biopsies to be done in order to confirm what we hope to be true that the cancer has been eradicated. We will not know the outcome until this procedure is completed. And so we continue to pray, rejoice, live, wait and trust God who holds all things together."

Jim Kelly was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2013 and underwent surgery to remove tumors. However, doctors found out in March that there was a recurrence of the sinus cancer, which led to a two-month extensive treatment that weakened the 54-year-old.

While waiting for the result of the radiation and chemotherapy sessions, Kelly managed to grace the Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony to witness former Bills teammate Andre Reed's induction.
