Fans can look forward to an all-new season of excitement and new twists when "The Originals" kicks off its second season on The CW this fall.

Last season ended with an intense finale and a number of shocking moments, including Hayley's transition into a hybrid and the return of Rebekah. In addition, Klaus and Hayley's baby was finally born. However, after the birth of baby Hope, Klaus was forced to stage her death in order to protect her. In actuality, he sent his baby girl off to live with his sister Rebekah, who made a surprise return after leaving the show earlier in the season.

In a recent interview with Buddy TV, "The Originals" stars Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin opened up about what viewers can expect from their characters, Klaus and Hayley, in the upcoming season.

Season 2 will begin several months later after where the Season 1 finale left off.

According to executive producer Julie Plec, "The Vampires have been basically decimated and those that remain have been exiled out of the [French] Quarter," she said, adding that they will face death if they are found in the Quarter.

Meanwhile, the Original family is locked up in their compound and grieving over the loss of baby Hope, who is safely hidden somewhere with Rebekah.

Klaus, however, doesn't cope well with being in the compound. He is like a "caged animal and chomping at the bit to get revenge from those who wronged him and contributed to him sending away from this daughter. He's not handling it well," Morgan said.

"He's just biding his time and waiting for the moment to seek bloody, merciless revenge."

Although Klaus and Hayley will always be tied together through Hope, Morgan says that the two are "quite distant" from each other since they remind each other about their tragic lost.

Tonkin also dropped a number of teasers about Season 2, revealing that Hayley is lost and "damaged" now that she's lost her baby.

When asked if sparks will fly between her and Klaus, Tonkin said "I just don't think that Hayley's priority right now is romance. I think she's closing herself off with Klaus."

Now that Hayley is a Hybrid, Tonkin teased that she will have to prove her loyalty to "her people," but Jackson will continue to support her.

Although Hayley misses Hope, Tonkin revealed that she is confident in giving Rebekah custody of her child.

"Hayley and Rebekah didn't know each that well," but Rebekah really helped protected her, said the actress. Plus, Rebekah has always yearned to be a mother, so Hayley trusts Rebekah.

She added that Hayley hasn't "said goodbye to the baby for good. ... New Orleans is a war zone right now and she doesn't want to bring her child into that." However, she does want to bring Hope home at some point.

Season 2 of "The Originals" will premiere on Oct. 6 on The CW.
