It would not take an expert to notice how Apple has not released a game-changing product for a while now, despite the brand being known for its knack for innovation. While the company is enjoying massive earnings from its most popular products, it cannot be denied that Apple has not been the same in terms of production.

On the other hand, it may simply mean that something is in the works for the powerful brand -- and that could of course be the rumored iWatch, which has long been among the biggest speculations when it comes to Apple.

Users who have become envious of their friends who are on Samsung and Android with the Gear, Pebble or another brand of smart watch might have to wait a little longer for Apple's entry to the wearable technology market.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, who has been known for having a respectable track record on Apple speculations, the iWatch launch date could take as long as sometime in 2015 instead of this year, Network World reports.

While Kuo and others are positive about Apple's plan to develop the said device, the challenges the company may have encountered in software and hardware integration may cause the launch to be pushed back.

Knowing Apple, device launches have to be flawless. And since it would be entering an entirely new category, the company has to be more careful in doing things just right, especially now that competitors have been in the industry for some time now.

Still, it can easily be seen that the current choices for smartwatches still have a lot of space for improvement. Because of how Apple works, nothing is known about the upcoming device and what features it will offer but speculations believe that the iWatch will heavily focus on fitness and lifestyle.
