Diablo 3 versions for Xbox One and PS4 were launched on Aug. 19, including the expansion The Reaper of Souls. There are still bugs to fix so testers have yet to give their definitive opinion on the versions. However, there was an increase in the resolution for the Xbox One version, which had a boost from 900p to 1080p.

Eurogamer reports that the bug for the dual frame rate that was discovered earlier has been somewhat fixed. Game testers said that the dual frame-rate bug was still there although to a lower degree. The problem has been completely fixed in the version for PS4.

PlayStation LifeStyle reported on a recent comparison of the two versions side by side to see which version looked better, coming to the conclusion that both versions looked great and are almost identical. The videos run on 1080p, and the visual assets showed no real difference -- although the game's engine showed some random elements.

Based on the lighting model, shadow rendering and texture asset quality it seems Blizzard has made both versions at par with each other, including the boost in resolution for the Xbox One version.

When it came to the frame rate, the version for PS4 stayed at 60fps, while the version of the Xbox One fluctuates. Mostly, it stayed at 60fps but, at times, would fall into the 52-60fps range when the play area got busy, although it seems the dips in the frame rate are almost visually unnoticeable.

When stress testing was done, the PS4 showed a slight lead, but even still, it required a very close look in order to see the frame-rate dip in the Microsoft platform. The lowest dip recorded was to 52fps.

Game testers also noticed the appearance of elements on the PS4 that are not very sharply shown on the Xbox One, such as the spider webs in the Skeleton King's crypts. There is also a blue tone around the Highlands area in PS4, which is odd. These are taken as elements that are randomly highlighted by the engine.
