While viewers were eagerly waiting for the announcement of this year's winners, fans were also waiting for the happenings prior to the Emmys. The Red Carpet is one of the most awaited pre-show segments as there are always fashion hits and misses, something which is worth paying attention to every year.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, some of the trends that were spotted earlier include blonde hair sported by several stars including Kristen Wigg, Gwen Stefani, Guiliana Rancic and Lena Dunham. Several guests were wearing red gowns. Early arrivals seen wearing red were Mindy Kaling, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Claire Danes. Sofia Vergara, Camila Alves (wife of Matthew McConaughey) and Laverne Cox all came dressed in white or white lace. Several ladies were also seen wearing gowns with plenty of pleats, folds and ruffles. Of course, there were also fashion styles that defied description and those that made you take a second look.

Taylor Schilling nailed it with a nude Zuhair Murad gown and Forever Mark jewelry. Heidi Klum also wore a red ensemble by Zac Posen. Sarah Hyland's gown consisted of a white crop top paired with a full length red skirt from Christian Siriano. Hayden Panettiere showed off her baby bump nicely in a beautiful Lorena Sarbu dress full of silver sequins.

Robin Wright's all-white custom jumpsuit by Ralph Lauren was quite dramatic, as it was totally backless. Lena Dunham came in a dress that had less volume but was still poufy in an ombre tiered skirt in various shades of pink paired with a tailored sleeveless shirt by Giambattista Valli.

Julia Roberts looked very good in a short dress by Elie Saab, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus was stunning in a Carolina Herrera creation.

As for hosts, Seth Meyers hosted the Primetime Awards Night of the Emmys, looking very dapper in his classic tuxedo. For the pre-show events, the Red Carpet saw E! hosts Ross Matthews and Guiliana Rancic interview and wrangle the celebrity guests. Kelly Osbourne and Kristin Dos Santos took charge of talking about fashion, and Billy Crystal appeared in the "In Memoriam" segment to pay tribute to Robin Williams.
