In a special expanded 90-minute version of E! Network's "Fashion Police," celebrities attending the MTV Video Music Awards and the Primetime Emmys were praised and critiqued on their outfit selections. The two award shows, one for music videos and the other for television, brought many celebrities and many trends for the hosts of "Fashion Police" to discuss.

The panel, made up of Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, George Kotsiopoulos and Joan Rivers floated around "must-see" looks from stars organized around segments of linked trends or themes seen on each red carpet.

The extended episode began with a segment highlighting the red, white and blue dresses on the Emmys red carpet. Stars like Claire Danes from "Homeland" and January Jones from "Mad Men" both wore bright red gowns, with some mixed reviews. Sofia Vergara of "Modern Family" wowed the hosts in her white mermaid dress with silver seams and Julia Roberts, who attended for her work in "A Normal Heart," wore a short nearly navy Elie Saab couture dress.

A common thread among VMA attendees were shimmering metallic outfits, included in a portion they dubbed the women "Ice, Ice Babies." Jennifer Lopez wore a sexy cutout dress that let the "Fashion Police" hosts gush about how flawless the mature dancer-actress-singer's body is. Female rapper Iggy Azalea received luke warm reviews of her tightly fitted silver number and model and Mrs. Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose, was brutalized for wearing a loosely fitting chain-mail number. Comparing it to Rose McGowan's similar and then-shocking outfit worn to the VMAs when she accompanied Marilyn Manson, Rose got no compliments from the four-person panel.

As a special guest, singer-songwriter Jessie J briefly held court with the Fashion Police, discussing her performance at the VMAs with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. When it was time to discuss her own red-carpet choice, Jessie J described her ethereal vintage pale green dress as a "softer mood" than she typically goes for in fashion.

In the final minutes of the show, as is customary on "Fashion Police," the hosts take turns giving 10-second closing arguments on their pick for the best and worst dress among everyone covered. The winner was Sarah Hyland for her white top and red ballgown skirt combination from Christian Siriano while the "fashhole" of the episode was unanimously Amber Rose's chain-mail get-up that left little to the imagination.
