iPad 5's upcoming release is set to generate tremendous buzz around the tech world. Apple has already earned huge amount of cash from the sale of its previous four generations of tablets, and now, the company will place more expectation on its newest mobile device, which will reportedly feature a thinner and smaller casing.

In a report by CNET tech writer Rick Broida, he discussed the recently released video from Unbox Therapy showing an iPad 5 casing, which appears much narrower than the previous tablets manufactured by Apple.

Broida did not confirm the authenticity of the video, but he seemed convinced that Apple will be releasing a new iPad with a fresher look that still maintains the current 9.7-inch screen standard.

"Assuming this video is real, the iPad 5 clearly takes some design cues from the iPad Mini, with much more rounded edges and corners, separated volume buttons, and a thinner overall design," said Broida in his article.

The CNET writer added the width of the casing will be the biggest change for iPad 5, measuring 6.7 inches across (iPad 4 measured 7.3 inches across). Moreover, the new iPad appears much slimmer than its predecessor, though the video did not clearly show the actual thickness of the casing.

One thing is for sure about the next generation iPad, it will be thinner than before. Yet, Apple did a pretty job in maintaining its ideal screen size. As to other features of iPad 5, that remains unseen but more information is expected to come out as the release date draws near.
