Come November, you'll be able to put Zelda's Link behind the wheel of a go kart. That's because Mario Kart 8 will be releasing a DLC (downloadable content) pack that will feature Link as well as Zelda-themed courses.

Mario and Zelda have largely remained separate in video games over the history of the two games. They've fought each other in Super Smash Bros. but for the first time they'll be in a Mario-based game together. Donkey Kong characters have made it into Super Mario games like Mario Kart, but never Link and Zelda characters, so this will be a new thing.

Mario Kart 8 will receive two new DLC packs, the first will have Link and the Zelda-themed tracks. The second will have Animal Crossing characters and Mario in a Tanooki suit (racoon suit). The first pack will be released sometime in November and the second sometime in the middle of 2015.

Wii U Gets Praise

If Wii U is going to ever catch up to Sony and Microsoft, they need future titles to wow potential buyers. With a new Zelda game coming out soon, gamers have something to get excited about. Super Smash Bros. will eventually debut too.

TheVerge.com writer Sam Byford detailed why gamers should think about buying a Wii U now. He says that there are better system-exclusive games for the Wii U. He says future titles should lure more buyers into buying a Wii U. He also explained that "NES Remix" games, games from the 80s and 90s, will be a fun, fresh way to play old games.

He praised the quick-start mode for faster loading times. He explained that the Pro Controller is a game controller with exceptional battery life and a very comfortable way to play.
