Well, now there are only two episodes left. Two episodes left of a series that has been on since 2005, and somehow this season is managing to be terrible. I could almost compare it to Season 6. What's wrong with the final season of "Dexter" is that the stakes don't feel high and that there isn't going to be some final payoff. It certainly feels like we're getting to a season finale, but not one that is worthy enough to be a series finale. Someone even got their throat cut open, and this episode still managed to be a bore.

The only truly important event in this episode was Vogel's demise at the hands of her son, Oliver Saxon, who was only just revealed as the brain surgeon in the last episode. The episode ended with Oliver violently killing his mother, and Dexter coming too late. We've seen this happen with Rita, but the weird thing is that Dexter actually reacted with emotion compared to Rita's death, in which he reacted with just blank shock. Charlotte Rampling has probably been the only good part about this season, and now that she's gone I'm going to find it hard to actually want to tune in for the final two episodes.

Once again, Dexter's motivations throughout the episode don't make sense. He is set on fleeing the country with Hannah and Harrison to go to Argentina, which is something that's beyond sensical explanation. The writers are pretty much shoving Argentina down our throats at this point, and I won't be surprised if the finale ends with Dexter, Hannah and Harrison living in Argentina happily ever after. This is a truly dumb idea, and the only one who sees this is Deb. While Deb is usually the voice of the audience, she managed to be just as irritating as everyone else in this episode. She's now covering for Hannah just like Dexter, even though she's the one who started the search for the femme fatale. Honestly, the best way for this show to end is to have all of them in jail.

In news that everyone could care less about, Jaime and Quinn broke up. Why? Well, because Quinn and Deb still have feelings for each other. Except neither of them wanted to admit that that was the reason for the break up, and boy did they do the worst job at not admitting it. By the end of the episode, Quinn and Deb were making out again. So what can we expect for the last two episodes of the series. Probably something to do with a face off between Oliver and Dexter, and a face off between the federal marshall and Dexter/Hannah. In other words, two very non-exciting events. "Dexter" needs to take some tips from "Breaking Bad" on how to do a proper final season.

Blood spatters

- Jamie told Deb to go f--k herself and probably none of us cheered, because it's Jamie.

- Harrison split his chin open on a treadmill so Hannah took him to the hospital instead of just calling Deb. Makes sense.

- There was some new background music in this episode, so that's a plus!

- Detective what's her face is back. You know, the one who got Quinn's job and the one who the show has done a spectacular job developing as a character.

- Vogel had some stylish shades.

- "If you don't kill Saxon, her life is at risk." As always, thanks for the update, Harry.

- "You know how stupid that sounds?" - Deb on Dexter's Argentina fantasy, and me on what everyone said throughout this episode.
