A 4-year-old preschooler in Florida was expelled from pre-K after his mother posted an insulting message about his private school on Facebook.

Ashley Habat says she received a notification from the Sonshine Christian Academy in Callahan the day after she went to Facebook to vent her frustrations with the school because they didn't give her enough notice about her son's picture day.

According to the Florida mom, when she dropped her son, Will, off to school one morning, the preschool administrator asked him if he was "excited" about picture day. After the young boy walked off, Habat says she told the educator that they didn't give enough notice. In response, the administrator said, "Well we put it in his folder last week," she told WJXT-TV.

Later that day, Habat tagged the school in message on Facebook that read:

"Why is it that every single day there is something new I dislike about Will's school? Are my standards really too high or are people working in the education field really just that ignorant."

The next morning she received a phone call asking her to stop by when she drops off her son. During that meeting, she was told that her son would no longer be able to attend.

"They just felt like we weren't the right fit of parent relationship with the school and that they didn't want him as a student anymore. He had done nothing wrong." said Ashley Habat.

The letter of dismissal that she received read:

"Your relationship with Sonshine did not get off to a very good start the first day of school. You utilized social media to call into question not only the integrity but the intelligence of our staff. These actions are also consistent with sowing discord which is spoken of in the handbook you signed," reports Fox News.

Although Habat says she has no regrets about her Facebook post, she says she doesn't believe her son should be punished for her actions. She also wishes that she and the school could have tried to work together before expelling him.

"Why would you expel a 4-year-old over something his mom posts on her private Facebook page only people on her friends list can see," she said.
