Apple has already sent out invitations for a press event that will be held on Sept. 9. While the company has not said anything about what it will be announcing, the current consensus of the media is that it could be the unveiling of the newest iPhone, CNET reports.

The company did not provide further details aside from saying that they wish that they "could say more." Apart from the expected next iteration of the iPhone, Apple could also be launching their version of wearable technology -- a market the company has not yet joined while big competitors have already been working on their respective models.

It is actually highly possible that Apple will be releasing the next iPhone since the upcoming event would be a year after the iPhone 5S and 5C were launched. Also, the tech giant has consistently added new iPhones yearly since the popular smartphone was first introduced in 2007.

New iPhones have been created since 2011. Gadget enthusiasts and speculators expect two new models to be released, just like last time but with different display sizes and not just color and spec variants. Also, the gadgets could be released separately this time.

Apple seems quite confident with what is currently dubbed as the iPhone 6, as they have supposedly asked their partners to manufacture about 30-40 percent more iPhones compared to their order last year. This event and the product that comes with it will be very crucial for the company especially now that more than half its revenues are attributed to the smartphone line and the company releases only one phone every year.

As the world awaits the launch of the next iPhone, photos of its parts have been leaked online, and they look quite similar to those that were previously posted, suggesting that its actual look may have been seen by market watchers.
