A young man who secretly filmed his family confronting him about being gay has received over $90,000 in donations in just three days. Daniel Pierce, a 19-year-old from Georgia, posted a video of his family conducting a "delayed intervention" and has received donations from others to cover his living expenses.

Pierce filmed the encounter with his father, grandparents, stepmother and paternal aunt as they accused him of "making a choice" to be gay. Pierce described the staged meeting as a "pray the gay away" intervention, and when Pierce explained he had not chosen to be this way, his family says they will no longer support him.

"No, you can deny it all you want to but I believe in the word of God, and God creates nobody that way," a woman is heard saying during the five-minute-long clip. "It's a path that you have chosen to choose. Since you have chosen that path, we will not support you any longer. You will need to move out and find wherever you can to live, because I will not let people believe that I condone what you do."

Pierce said he first revealed his sexuality to his stepmother in October, and when he asks if he can live in the house basement, she adamantly says he cannot.

Another woman yells out at one point, "You're full of sh*t. You told me on the phone that you made that choice. You know you wasn't born that way."

After posting the video online, it gained more than three million hits, and Pierce's partner started a gofundme page asking for donations for living expenses for Pierce.

"The video was not posted for people to attack them," Pierce said to WXIA-TV. "I wouldn't want it to happen to me. I wouldn't want it to happen to them. They are still my family and they are in my heart but what happened in that video is very hurtful."

Pierce also said he has not been in contact with his family since the incident. His family has not commented on the video.
