Apple's special media event September 10, 2013 will reportedly be the first launch of its kind in company history. The tech giant is rumored to be launching two iPhone versions -- the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C simultaneously.

All the hype has centered everyone's attention on Apple's flagship device, the iPhone and its impending release. On the other hand, those who are waiting for updates on the company's Mac line-up may be in for a longer wait.

According to International Business Times, the new MacBook Pro 2013 is most likely scheduled for an October release. 9to5Mac is also betting on an October release for the entire Mac line-up in terms of hardware and software.

The rumored October release is partly due to an alleged same month release of the Mac's newest operating system, OS X 10.9 Mavericks. Previous release dates of Mac's OS also follow the rumored October release date. Both OS X Lion and OS X Mountain Lion were released after Apple unveiled Q4 results at around mid-October.

Others are speculating that both OS X 10.9 Mavericks and iOS 7 might be released together with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C during the September 10 event.

The current version of the MacBook Pro boasts a retina display available for both 15-inch and 13-inch models. Self-dubbed as the world's highest resolution notebook, the 15-inch Macbook Pro with retina display sports a 2880 by 1800 resolution which Apple says has 3 million more pixels than an HDTV.

Although leaks and rumors regarding the new MacBook Pro are hard to come by these days, almost all techies are saying that Apple is working on something big for the notebook.

Unlike the MacBook Air, which has just released its Haswell version, everyone is looking forward to something more than just a lengthier battery life for the MacBook Pro.

Along with the new OS X 10.9 Mavericks, International Business Times says that consumers should expect "multiple-monitor support, power-user features in Finder, a faster Safari, Maps and iBooks apps, and a redesigned Calendar application."

It is safe to assume that the new MacBook Pro might not be making its debut by today's media event. Apple has already geared up for the much awaited event which will be held at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. The event will officially start at 10:00 AM PT.
