Fatherhood seems to be treating Simon Cowell well because just six months after the birth of his first son, Cowell is planning for a second child, The Daily Mail reports.

"Of course I'd like another child. You have one, and I'd always have another," Cowell told The Sunday People. "I've thought about having one in between the series of X Factor."

Despite his eagerness to have baby No. 2 with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, the music mogul revealed that he's not as keen or interested in changing diapers.

"I still haven't changed a nappy. I don't think you have to," he said.

Cowell then went on to make the analogy that changing diapers is similar to "watching your girlfriend go to the loo."

"It's like watching your girlfriend go to the loo. You don't have to. You have a choice," he said.

Though Cowell feels that he "was born to be a dad," he did express his concern for whether he could love anything else more than his canine companions. [The Daily Mail]

''I actually said to Lauren beforehand, 'What if I like the dogs more than him?' and she said, 'You're gonna be absolutely fine,' and then literally within seconds of him being born, I got it!," he said.

Cowell's parenting woes may be behind him, but on Sunday Cowell expressed his worry over the success and longevity of "The X-Factor UK."

"If I'd been asked about the future of the show ten years ago I'd never imagine we'd still be making it in 2014. Once people get bored with it or if we get bored with it, for sure I'll drop it," Cowell told The Daily Star.

Cowell then went on to reveal his plans to reinvent the show and increase the show's ratings from what they were last year.

"I'd be lying if I said we wanted to go down on last year's ratings. You don't want to be in that place," he said. "You want the show to get bigger. It's about changing it up and having good contestants. And having a good sense of humour. And it does polarise opinion, which is why I think it's so popular. When I watch it now I'm drawn into it all over again. It is a well-made show."

He said, "I realize it may not happen overnight. It is all about word of mouth."
