Although Britney Spears has been going through a tough week following her recent breakup with David Lucado, the pop princess was still able to bring joy to a once suicidal fan.

Last week, Spears' fan David LeCours took to Instagram to discuss his meeting with Spears where he handed her an open letter that detailed his experiences with suicide. LeCours then went on to explain how the singer helped him find strength and be open about his sexuality as a gay man.

"Thank you for everything Britney. I wouldn't be able to be so confident and open about my sexuality if your music and you didn't help me. I love you so much, thank you for not only being my inspiration but helping me get back up and be strong," LeCours wrote on Instagram.

According to LeCours, Spears' was so moved by his open letter that she mailed him her own open letter in return.

On Tuesday, LeCours posted a photo of Spears' open letter to him that read, "I was so happy to receive your letter. I was very happy to hear about how courageous you've been about being openly gay. I've always been told as long as you know in your heart that's what matters most. I try to follow my heart and dreams every day of my life and I think that's why I am where I am today. It means so much to me to have a fan like you who takes the time to sit and write such a touching letter."
